We are proud to announce there will be some great clinics featured at the 2011 Royal Manitoba Winter Fair. This workshop will educate riders on how to prepare a horse to do cutting, reining, etc. McLeod says, “Whenever a horse wants to do what we want him to do…we succeed.” This clinic will teach you the necessary communication to get your horse onside.
Two Great Clinics with Neil McLeod
Neil McLeod and his brother Don own Thunderbird Horse Centre, a family owned and operated ranch near Brandon. It is home to over 100 AQHA horses that are a result of a thirty year, six generation breeding program. They ride, train and teach not only their own “Thunderbird” horses, but also horses from all over North America. Neil has 30 years of experience in training the equine athlete and offers amazing insights into the behavior and mindsets of horses. He has offered clinics in locations on both sides of the 49th parallel and we are fortunate to present him at the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair.
Natural Horsemanship
3pm Tuesday, March 29th
Westoba Agricultural Centre of Excellence
Natural horsemanship is the philosophy of working with horses by appealing to their natural instincts. It involves communication techniques derived from wild horse observation in order to build a partnership that closely resembles the relationships that exist between horses. Neil is expert in this realm and will amaze you with his ability to communicate in the only language your horse will understand…the language of gesture.
Even if you are not a rider, you will be intrigued by this clinic.
